This learning module describes how to prepare a draw site for blood culture collection both from a peripheral site and also from a central line. You will also learn and be able to use techniques that will help reduce the risk of contaminating blood cultures with skin bacteria, and you will learn an easy way to recognize how much blood is needed for a blood culture.
