Title
Immediate Postpartum Intrauterine Device Insertions show details
Intrauterine devices (IUD) are over 99% effective at preventing pregnancy and are increasingly popular among patients. They may be safely placed immediately after a vaginal or Cesarean delivery, a time which is convenient for both the provider and the patient. This presentation reviews the risks and benefits of placing an IUD immediately postpartum and demonstrates the IUD insertion technique on the MamaU postpartum uterus simulation model.
