EC Risk: Precipitous Delivery and its Complications show details
This module reviews how to manage precipitous delivery in the emergency department, including normal vaginal delivery, and the various complications that could arise. Those complications include nuchal cord, preterm delivery, postpartum hemorrhage, breech presentation, and shoulder dystocia. Emphasis is placed on how to clinically manage the various complications, how to effectively communicate with an interprofessional team, and prepare care team members to reduce risk in this high-stress, fast-paced situation.
