BERT: Behavioral Emergency Response Team show details
A Code BERT is called when a patient is experiencing a behavioral health crisis and the unit staff need assistance in managing the situation. The team is composed of clinical personnel with expertise in behavioral health who are trained to respond to medical, surgical, obstetrical units in event of behavioral health crisis. The goal is to have clinical personnel responding to patient care situations. Responders include: BERT RN or Social Worker (Team Lead) BERT Behavioral Health Tech Primary RN of patient on acute care unit Attending MD of patient, in person OR by phone Optional: Psychiatrists, Public Safety
