Overview of myPerformance show details
In this 20-minute online module for leaders and associates, participants will learn MedStar Health’s purpose and philosophy of performance management and will be introduced to the performance management approach. Participants will learn the expectations of performance including individual impact goals, SPIRIT Values, job responsibilities and leadership competencies.  Participants will learn how to use the SMART method to write effective individual impact goals aligned with MedStar Health’s systemwide objectives.  Additionally, participants will learn about the active role of associates and leaders during the Q2 and Q4 performance check-ins and the year-end evaluation, meaningful dialogue about performance and development, and rating labels for Q2 and Q4, as well as year-end evaluation.

Impacting Performance through Effective Coaching & Feedback. show details
In this 15-minute online module for leaders, participants will learn about their critical role to provide ongoing coaching and feedback and to engage in future focused conversations with associates. Additionally, leaders will learn the difference between performance-based conversations, development-based conversations and difficult conversations, as well as diagnostic questions to determine causes of nonperformance, and how to give positive and constructive feedback effectively. These skills help demonstrate the leadership competency of Nurture Talent and contribute to the growth of MedStar Health.

Responding Effectively to Coaching & Feedback. show details
In this 15-minute online module for leaders and associates, participants will learn how to manage their reactions and respond effectively to constructive feedback to enhance their performance. Additionally, participants will learn that people who adopt a growth mindset, rather than a fixed mindset, are much more likely to reach higher levels of performance.

In this 15-minute online module for leaders and associates, participants will learn how to write an individual development plan (IDP) and understand the role of associates and leaders in the development planning process. Additionally, participants will learn of a variety of resources MedStar Health provides to take ownership of their career.

Managing the New Hire. show details
In this 15-minute online module for leaders, participants will learn about the introductory employment period, and the important role leaders have to ensure associates successfully onboard. Two checklists are shared during the online module, one for leaders and one for associates, as well as a Stay or Go Checklist, leaders can use to evaluate whether a new hire will be effective long term. This is the last online module in the myPerformance series and if leaders have already downloaded the Leader Participant Guide, they do not need to do so again.
