Leadership in the home health setting can be considered a multifaceted and often challenging area of nursing that involves collaboration, ethical components, and competence. As a newly practicing registered nurse, it is important to remember that leadership is an acquired skill that comes with experience and practice in the field. Leadership is an acquired skill that can be defined as the relationship in which one person influences others to work willingly on related tasks to attain desired level (Pullen, 2016). In this module, you will learn the importance of the five modes of dealing with conflict, utilizing key patient advocacy factors, providing quality improvement, and utilizing both ethics and information technology to promote patient safety. Lastly, you must develop an effective leadership role to deliver high-quality care and ensure patient safety while engaging in numerous daily leadership roles. It is essential for you as a leader in nursing to recognize, learn, practice, and improve negative behaviors by managing the conflict constructively.
