The purpose of this course is to introduce a new 2-person verification process for patient weights, reinforce safe practices in weight documentation (kg vs. lbs.), and provide a refresher on 2 RN verification for high-risk/high-alert medications. It also aims to strengthen awareness of medication error risks linked to inaccurate weights, support a culture of safety, accountability, and teamwork in medication administration, and align practice with national safety standards and hospital policy.
