Kintsugi is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery by mending the areas of breakage with lacquer dusted or mixed with powdered gold, silver, or platinum. This technique treats the breakage and repair as part of the object's history, highlighting it rather than hiding it. The philosophy behind Kintsugi embraces imperfection and sees the object as more beautiful for having been broken, which can be applied to the human experience as a metaphor for healing and resilience.
