SLP Research Roundtable: The Role of SLPs in Obstructive Sleep Apnea and Snoring Description Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) is a common but under-addressed condition in medical SLP. With growing evidence supporting behavioral interventions, including myofunctional therapy and respiratory muscle training—SLPs are increasingly positioned to play a key role in interdisciplinary OSA management. This session will provide a structured review and group discussion of the article "The Role of Speech-Language Pathologists in Adults with Obstructive Sleep Apnea and Snoring" by Kearney (2025), which explores the evidence base, scope of practice, and potential interventions within our field. This roundtable is appropriate for medical SLPs working in outpatient, inpatient, and home health settings, particularly those interested in breathing and voice disorders. Literature Review: Kearney (2025) Group Discussion and Clinical Application Suggested Audience: SLP Difficulty Level Advanced – Includes in-depth theory, concepts, and applications of information and/or techniques that are presented beyond the Essential Level.
