The Peri-anesthesia Bridge Program is designed for nurses new to the specialty.  Peri-anesthesia nursing ranges from preparation of the patient and family in the preopeative area to providing post anesthesia levels of care in the post operative area. The course is taught by a multidisciplinary Peri-anesthesia team of registered nurses, certified nurse anesthetists, nurse practioners and anesthesiologists.

Teaching strategies consists of lectures, skills acquisition, and clinical shifts with "clinical coach". Didactic and classroom portions of the course are held once a week for 6 weeks. The entire program is 6-10 weeks for experienced nurses and 16 weeks for New to Practice Nurses.
