This course is designed to prepare medical-surgical and cardiac nurses to provide proficient nursing care to mechanically ventilated trached patients in non-critical care units. The didactic portion includes a SiTEL module, and basic concepts of management and troubleshooting alarms of a Mechanical Ventilator. Simulation includes hands-on practice on tracheostomy care/suctioning and responding to clinical emergencies in mechanically ventilated patients.
