This module reviews the diagnosis and management of intestinal ischemia and AAA, two high-risk abdominal emergencies that carry a high mortality. Emphasis is placed on the importance of early and accurate diagnosis, which can be accomplished by avoiding cognitive errors and giving these diagnoses due consideration in the appropriate clinical setting.
