This module reviews assessment, management, and treatment of the following high-risk wounds: dog bites, clenched-fist injuries, plantar punctures, and contaminated wounds. Emphasis is placed on clinical decision-making regarding care to prevent complications, such as infection and selection of the appropriate wound-closure method. Interprofessional communication regarding these high-risk wounds is also addressed. show less
Objectives
