This is the medication safety competency course for pharmacists at MGUH.

Objectives

  • 1. To remind pharmacists for the policy on IV beta-blocker use
  • 2. To remind pharmacists for the appropriate auxiliary labels for the high alert medication
  • 3. To ensure all pharmacists know the “Five Rights” and know to check for all five when reviewing medication orders
  • 4. To evaluate pharmacist knowledge of error-prone abbreviations
  • 5. To remind pharmacists to be aware of which medication has to be ordered via powerplan
