Upon completion of this course, the Homecare Nurse will:
- Be able to identify insertion sites for PICC Line catheters and know the difference between cuffed & non-cuffed lines
- Be able to describe the steps for flushes, site care, and dressing changes for a PICC Line
- Be able to measure arm circumference and exposed catheter to identify catheter migration
- Be able to recall the steps for declotting a PICC Line in the home
- Be able to recall the steps for removing a PICC Line in the home and understand which lines can be removed by the nurse
Objectives
