This simulation course is for advanced practice clinicians who insert central lines..
The simulation skills stations include: subclavian catheterization and ultrasound-guided internal jugular and femoral catheterization.
Clinicians will be required to demonstrate proficiency in all aspects of central line placement including site selection, sterile technique and ultrasound.

Objectives
- 1. Enumerate indications and contraindications for a central line.
- 2. Identify major anatomical structures, guide needle insertion, and confirm device placement with ultrasound.
- 3. Demonstrate successful placement of a central line (IJ, Subclavian and Femoral) using sterile technique with maximal barrier precautions and proper patient positioning.
- 4. Verbalize appropriate post-procedure care and documentation.
- 5. Demonstrate the five components of the central line bundle through the utilization a central line safety checklist.
