Objectives
- Familiarize with radiation safety concepts including radiation policy, radiological terminology, radiation sources, risks, hazards and controls, and your responsibilities
- Know occupational dose limits and the risks associated with radiation exposure
- Maintain compliance with state and federal agencies
- Provide information to protect the health and safety of patients, visitors, and hospital employees from ionizing radiation
- Apply a few principles, including radiation facts and figures and common-sense, to optimize the safe delivery of radiation
