General Objectives

• Participants will be able to examine, evaluate and diagnose various musculoskeletal and medical conditions in the athletic population.
• Participants will review risk factors associated with various injuries.
• Participants will be able to utilize tests and knowledge to determine diagnosis.
• Participants will be able to design and implement treatments to minimize future injuries or illness found in the high school or college athletic training room.
• Participants will be able to design and implement a comprehensive treatment plan to rehabilitate athletes with a variety of different conditions found in the Athletic Training Room.
• Participants will review sport-specific return to play criteria and be able to utilize criteria to make recommendations for athletes with a variety of different conditions.

• Review and discuss medical conditions found in the AT room.
• Compare the similarities and differences between different injuries and pathlology.
• Examine and differentiate dermatological, musculoskeletal and viral illness in athletes.
• Determine and justify the appropriate treatment for conditions and return to play.
• Assess a variety of medical and physical therapy conditions found with athletes in the college setting.
