Objectives

  • Monitor patients at risk for suicide and promote safety for the patient with suicidal ideation
  • Identify all associates’ roles and responsibilities when caring for the patient with suicidal ideation
  • List and remove items in the care environment which patients can use to harm themselves
  • Understand the need to inform the Registered Nurse for patients who verbalize or attempt self harm
