General Objectives

• Participants will be able to examine, evaluate and diagnose various musculoskeletal and medical conditions in the athletic population.
• Participants will review risk factors associated with various injuries.
• Participants will be able to utilize tests to determine risk of injury.
• Participants will be able to design and implement injury prevention programs to minimize these injuries.
• Participants will be able to design and implement a comprehensive treatment plan to rehabilitate athletes with a variety of different conditions in preparations for safe return to sport.
• Participants will review sport-specific return to play criteria and be able to utilize criteria to make recommendations for athletes with a variety of different conditions.

Course Objectives

• Understand risk factors associated with ACL injuries.
• Implement LESS testing on athletes.
• Design and implement injury prevention program for athletes with increased risk of ACL injury.
• Identify mechanism, signs and symptoms of ACL injury.
• Understand conservative and surgical management of ACL injury.
• Prescribe conservative and post-operative management of ACL injury.
• Understand return to play criteria and utilize criteria to make recommendations.
