General Objectives
Participants will be able to evaluate and diagnose various lumbar spine related musculoskeletal injuries in the athletic population.
Participants will review risk factors associated with various injuries.
Participants will be able to utilize research and tests to determine risk of lumbar spine injury.
Participants will be able to design and implement injury prevention programs to minimize these injuries.
Participants will be able to design and implement a comprehensive treatment plan to rehabilitate athletes with a variety of different lox back conditions in preparations for safe return to sport.
Participants will review sport-specific return to play criteria and be able to utilize criteria to make recommendations for athletes with a variety of different lumbar spine conditions.
Course Objectives
Identify signs and symptoms of lumbar spine disorders in athletes.
Understand conservative and surgical management of low back injuries.
Prescribe conservative and post-operative management of low back injuries in sports medicine.
