Objectives

  • Describe normal conduction of the heart.
  • Summarize the process of evaluating EKG tracings.
  • Identify the criteria used for classification of the dysrhythmias including rate, rhythm, p wave and QRS configuration, PR interval and QRS duration measurement, and QT interval.
  • Discuss basic patient care and treatment for dysrhythmias and pacemakers.
  • Discuss MWHC telemetry clinical practice guidelines.
