Objectives
- Define concussion.
- Utilize evidence-based criteria to determine who needs imaging in order to confirm or deny a more serious or life-threatening diagnosis (PECARN Head Trauma Algorithm, Canadian CT Head Trauma Rule and Canadian C-Spine Rule).
- Facilitate shared decision-making between the care team, patient and the patient’s family.
- Deliver appropriate discharge instructions to ensure proper follow-up care.
