- Articulate a professional development plan for the next 12-24 months of one's professional nursing career.
- Discuss formation of a professional identity in nursing.
- Discuss some potential nursing career paths and consideration for going back to school.
- Explain the benefit of participating in nursing professional organization activities relevant to current specialty practice area.
- Identify resources within the organization and practice environment that will promote growth in professional practice.
- Review the objectives, structure, and expectations of the Second Year Program.

- Identify appropriate, clinically relevant evidence-based project issues to consider as topics.
- Understand institutional resources available for EBP Projects.
- Develop an implementation and dissemination plan with identified stakeholders.
- Evaluate the implementation processes and outcomes.
- Compose an appropriate abstract for the EBP project.
- Develop a poster for the EBP project.
- Understand the steps for presenting the EBP project at Medstar Health Research Conference and at a national conference.
