Objectives

  • At the completion of the course the learner will be able to:
  • Discuss transmission-based Precautions and the proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) needed for each.
  • Discuss foodborne illness sources, at risk populations, and your role in prevention.
  • Discuss food allergies; common foods, the symptoms, and the difference from food preferences.
  • Demonstrate hand hygiene, hand washing and hand rubbing techniques when appropriate.
  • Discuss workplace sanitation.
  • Discuss the meal ordering process using MedConnect and HealthTouch.
  • Demonstrate the patient meal selection process, including communication scripting.
  • Construct meal trays for various Therapeutic diets.
  • Demonstrate the patient tray delivery process, including communication scripting.
  • Demonstrate safe donning and doffing of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) as it relates to transmission-based Precautions
  • Demonstrate the tray collection process.
