Objectives
- Collect more detailed and accurate allergy history & consistently document allergy histories.
- Appropriately assess whether a reported allergy to one beta-lactam precludes utilization of another beta-lactam.
- Utilize protocols for desensitization and IV and PO challenges in the appropriate clinical situation.
- Identify the roles and responsibilities of members of the healthcare team involved in the evaluation and management of beta-lactam allergies.
