Objectives

  • Demonstrate acquisition of normal anatomical views of major organs/structures utilizing ultrasound technology and standardized patients.
  • Demonstrate basic principles of ultrasound including machine settings, probes, and image acquisition, quality and interpretation.
  • Demonstrate clinical reasoning, interpretation and diagnosis of patient cases utilizing ultrasound technology and ultrasound simulated cases.
  • Demonstrate interpretation of major organ/structure pathologies utilizing ultrasound technology and ultrasound simulator.
  • Identify the roles and responsibilities of members of the healthcare team involved in the collaborative care of medical and surgical patients.
  • Integrate a team-based approach in the care of medical and surgical patients.
