The purpose of the Nursing Journal Club is to enhance nurses’ knowledge of the research process and the ability to critique research studies. The journal club will serve as a venue to discuss research in relation to clinical practice, disseminate research results into practice, and reinforce the need to base practice on evidence. Participation in the journal club helps nurses to engage in evidence-based activities and pique interest in conducting staff-driven research initiatives. New knowledge learned from participation in journal clubs can lead to improved quality of care for patients and families.
