Brachytherapy is a minimally invasive, outpatient procedure performed at MSMH using radioactive material (I125 or Pd103) that is sealed in tubes called “seeds”. The seeds are implanted directly into the prostate tissue.

- To promote a basic understanding of radioactive seed prostate brachytherapy.
- To describe the procedure including sealed sources and applicators.
- This module is designed to establish confidence in support staff and the use of HRO principles to communicate concerns.
- To promote staff awareness of patient discharge instructions including patient disposal of any expelled "seed".
