Residents will receive general education on rehabilitation emergencies. The educational session will include a simulation activity that will provide a hands-on learning approach to help residents develop critical thinking skills through a number of behavior-related learning objectives, such as being able to identify patient level of acuity, formulate a differential diagnosis, triage to the appropriate level of care, perform relevant work-up, and prescribe indicated treatment. The simulated experience may be in the form of a standardized patient or a high-fidelity mannequin.
