About this Course: Whether you are new to the role, or an experienced resource nurse who wants a refresher, this class is for you. The resource nurse actively communicates the needs of the unit and acts as a liaison between patients, nurses, nursing leadership and the rest of the interdisciplinary team. The class consists of lecture, case studies, and small group discussion around staff assignment, service recovery, conflict resolution, quality measures, and survey readiness.

- Discuss how to respond to a MedConnect downtime
- Discuss quality measures and importance of maintaining unit survey readiness at all times.
- Effectively collaborate with patients and interdisciplinary care teams to analyze barriers to patient discharge
- Formulate an appropriate assignment based on number of nurses, patient care technicians, and their related skill mix
- Identify quality indicators used to track patient outcomes.
- Implement strategies for service recovery and conflict resolution
- Review obstetric and neonatal emergencies and the appropriate clinical interventions
