This course offers 3.5 Continuing Professional Education credits to Nurses. To claim the credits, the course must be completed prior to December 31, 2024. Once your evaluation is complete, log on to CloudCME® from your left SiTEL menu, and toggle to your Transcript to find the credits.
Accreditation: In support of improving patient care, MedStar Health is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
Credit Designation: This activity is approved for 3.5 ANCC contact hours. Nurses should claim only the credit
commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
About this Course: The preceptor workshop will prepare nurses for the role of preceptor within their area of practice. This course will provide information regarding the role and the responsibilities of both the preceptor as well as the orientee. A focus on the Benner’s Theory “Novice to Expert” will be applied to the progression of the orientee and enable the preceptor to help guide their transition into clinical practice.
