Objectives
- Identify the applicable population of infants with Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome (NAS).
- Understands importance of accurate scoring and interventions when treating infants with NAS.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the components of the Eat, Sleep, Console (ESC) method when assessing infants with NAS.
- Demonstrate competency using the ESC scoring algorithm and identifies need to escalate care or communicate with the provider.
- Identify appropriate charting methods, both in Cerner and using the Parents Log.
- Describe both non-pharmacologic and pharmacologic interventions.
