This course offers 13.50 Continuing Professional Education credits to Nurses. To claim the credits, the course must be completed prior to April 5, 2024. Once your evaluation is complete, log on to CloudCME® from your left SiTEL menu, and toggle to your Transcript to find the credits the next business day.
Accreditation: In support of improving patient care, MedStar Health is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
Credit Designation: This activity is approved for 13.50 ANCC contact hour(s). Nurses should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
About this Course: This is a two-day certification review course for CCRN/PCCN certification. It is an intense review course that will assist progressive care or critical care nurses who provide direct care to acutely ill adult patients with obtaining their certification. The course will cover all body systems, physiology, pathophysiology, assessment strategies and treatment options for medical and surgical critically ill patients. All participants will be expected to take either the AACN-PCCN or AACN-CCRN certification exam within 90 days of completion of the course.

Objectives
- Identify the common care needs of patients with single and multisystem organ abnormalities.
- Review the pathophysiology for single and multisystem dysfunction and discuss the pharmacological management for each.
- Describe the AACN synergy model of care for the CCRN/PCCN certification exam.
- Outline assessment strategies and treatment options for common progressive level care problems.
