Severe bleeding can lead to death within minutes if not controlled. The American College of Surgeons’ Stop the Bleed® program equips individuals with the knowledge and skills to recognize life-threatening bleeding and take immediate action to help save lives.
In this interactive, instructor-led course, participants will learn:

Techniques for applying direct pressure to wounds

Effective wound packing methods

Proper selection and use of commercial tourniquets
Through hands-on practice and expert guidance, learners will gain confidence and practical skills that can be used in everyday emergencies, accidents, or mass casualty situations.
This training draws on lessons from military medicine and trauma care to provide lifesaving techniques accessible to anyone, regardless of medical background.

- Apply a tourniquet correctly and safely by identifying situations that require tourniquet use, demonstrating correct placement and tightening, and stating considerations such as avoiding joints and not removing a tourniquet once applied.
- Demonstrate confidence and competence in bleeding control by successfully performing all skills under instructor supervision and responding appropriately to simulated bleeding scenarios.
- Demonstrate personal and scene safety measures by identifying potential hazards, describing appropriate use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and explaining how to safely move oneself and a victim from danger.
- Demonstrate wound packing techniques by identifying wounds requiring packing, properly packing a wound using gauze or available materials, and maintaining continuous pressure afterward.
