Objectives

  • Articulate the application of the Tiered Skills Acquisition Model (TSAM) resources to the orientation continuum.
  • Determine how to evaluate clinical judgment.
  • Discuss the theoretical underpinnings of preceptorship.
  • Distinguish competency through interactive evaluation exercises.
  • Identify ways to optimize an individualized orientation plan.
  • Implement techniques for delivery of effective feedback.
  • Recognize the role of nurse preceptors as integral to the support of all orientees, especially those participating in the Nurse Residency Program.
