This class is designed for nurses in medical surgiacl inpatient areas who would like to review nursing assessments. The class will review each system and focus on the most pertinent aspects of assessing the neurological, cardiovascular, respiratory, gastrointestinal, genitourinary and integumentary systems.

- Demonstrate an accurate patient assessment related to each body system, including neurological, respiratory, cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, genitourinary and integumentary
- Describe the MWHC DON Escalation Policy and how it may impact their bedside practice
- Identify common abnormal findings in body system assessments and subsequent interventions
- Identify the appropriate assessment and documentation requirements for their work area, as defined by the MWHC Dept of Nursing Policy Assessment, Reassessment, and Documentation Policy (9/30/24)
- Recognize the importance of thorough and accurate assessment techniques and the necessary equipment to perform assessments (e.g. stethoscope, doppler, Incentive Spirometry device)
