The 2026 MHH Hospital Competencies for both licensed and unlicensed associates will evaluate competency in various high risk, low volume skills and regulatory requirements. Topics will include: blood administration, emergency codes, restraint application, fall prevention measures, first five minutes of a code blue, critical notifications and documentation. This event is mandatory for all clinical staff.

- Participant will demonstrate appropriate fall prevention strategies based on assessed risk.
- Participant will demonstrate basic operational steps for operating the Zoll defibrillator
- Participant will demonstrate critical value notification documentation
- Participant will demonstrate safe practices and key steps required for blood administration.
- Participant will describe how to maintain a safe environment and support patient mobility appropriately
- Participant will identify common documentation pitfalls and strategies to avoid them
- Participant will identify signs of potential adverse transfusion reactions and appropriate response actions
- Participant will identify when and how to seek additional support to maintain a safe environment.
- Participant will recognize indicators of escalating patient behavior and factors that contribute to agitation.
- Participant will recognize patient deterioration and activate the appropriate emergency response
