This is an 8 hour elemetry course for new to practice or new to specialty RNs. Nurses will attend this class 1 week after nursing orientation and take an exam at the end of the class. It is required to pass the exam with a 80% or above. The course will include rhythm interpretation and interventions to include sinus rhythms, lethal rhythms, heart blocks, atrial and ventricular rhythms, and cardiac pacing. This course will also review telemetry monitoring guidelines for the nurse.

- Apply basic telemetry monitoring guidelines, including electrode placement, alarm management, and documentation expectations.
- Demonstrate competency through a telemetry exam at the conclusion of the course.
- Describe appropriate nursing interventions for key dysrhythmias and understand when to escalate care.
- Integrate telemetry findings into patient assessment and clinical decision-making
- Recognize and identify common cardiac rhythms using a systematic telemetry interpretation approach.
