A simulation scenario and skills station will provide the learner with the opportunity to assess a patient in an emergent situation and demonstrate hands on skills of exchanging a tracheostomy tube.

- Anticipate and prepare for assessment and treatment of an incoming critically ill patient who has an artificial airway
- Evaluate airway patency post tracheostomy tube change
- Identify tracheostomy obstruction through assessment of the patient's artificial airway
- Perform corrective management for occluded tracheostomy
