Description
This interactive virtual course equips Safety Leaders with the knowledge and practical tools to integrate a health equity lens into safety event reviews. Participants will learn how to identify and analyze health equity–related contributing factors—such as bias, communication barriers, social determinants of health, and structural inequities—that may influence patient safety events.
Through real-world case scenarios, guided discussions, and applied exercises, learners will strengthen their ability to conduct more comprehensive, equitable event reviews that align with High Reliability Organization (HRO) principles. By the end of the course, participants will be prepared to uncover hidden risks, ask more inclusive questions, and drive meaningful system-level improvements that advance both safety and equity.
