Objectives
- Demonstrate proper back and neck brace application as well as proper post-op mobility.
- Identify the major sections of the spine and associated spinal nerve functions, including basic motor and sensory functions commonly affected by cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spinal conditions or surgeries.
- Recognize priority post-operative complications and neurologic changes in spinal surgery patients that require prompt nursing assessment and escalation of care.
