American Heart Association Issue E-CARDS beginning January 1, 2016
12/2 In an effort ensure that cards are issued and accounted for properly and securely; MedStar SiTEL will be transitioning course completion cards from the traditional paper stock card to the electronic cards being offered by the American Heart Association beginning January 1, 2016. The benefits of having an electronic card are endless. An associate will never lose it since it can be saved as a pdf. document to desktop and mobile devices. If another card needs to be issued due to losing the email or document; the replacement card will no longer require a fee to be paid. Employers can also verify authenticity by entering the unique code printed on the card. The website to do so this is www.heart.org/cpr/mycards. Helpful Information: WHAT IS AN E-CARD? An e-Card is the electronic equivalent of a printed course completion card and can be provided to students as an alternative to a printed card. E-Cards are valid course completion cards and can be presented to employers as proof of successful completion of an AHA course. Like printed cards, e-Cards also expire two years from the issue date. CAN A TRAINING CENTER OFFER BOTH A PAPER CARD AND E-CARD? No. Only one AHA course completion card should be issued for each successfully completed course – either an e-Card or a printed card. CAN AN E-CARD BE PRINTED? Yes. An AHA e-Card can be printed by the student or Instructor, if necessary. CAN EMPLOYERS VALIDATE E-CARDS? Yes, employers may verify that an e-Card is authentic by entering the card information at: www.heart.org/cpr/mycards. CAN EDITS BE MADE TO AN E-CARD? After a student claims an e-Card, the student’s AHA TCC or the AHA Customer Support Center is able to make edits to the student’s name or email address, as well as change the Instructor. If you or your leadership have any questions please feel free to contact Cheryl Camacho by email Cheryl.camacho@email.sitel.org and phone 202-888-9181 or Jeffrey Allen by email Jeffrey.allen@email.sitel.org or phone 202-888-9182.
