Objectives

- Demonstrate how to use the Tiered Skills Acquisition Model (TSAM) to guide orientation and skill progression.
- Explain the roles and responsibilities of an OR Clinical Coach (Preceptor) and apply strategies for effective coaching.
- Identify different learners in the OR (students, new hires, externs, apprentices) and their scope of practice.
- Locate resources and policies to support precepting and learner development.
- Navigate challenging situations and escalate concerns using the chain of command appropriately.
- Perform constructive feedback and evaluation using available tools (daily evaluations, competency forms).
