Description
This asynchronous module (approved for 0.5 hours of NVA for Education/Inservice) provides targeted education for nursing and therapy clinicians in response to identified deficiencies from the recent MHHC Department of Health survey. The course reinforces best practices in plan of care review, diagnosis-specific emergency protocol documentation, and interdisciplinary coordination to ensure timely initiation and completion of all ordered services. Clinicians will learn to verify that patient-specific safety measures, such as hypoglycemia and hyperglycemia protocols, are accurately reflected in the plan of care and to follow the appropriate add-on discipline process when additional services are required. Completion of this course supports compliance with regulatory standards and promotes safe, coordinated, and patient-centered care.

- By the end of this microlearning module, clinicians will be able to apply the add-on discipline process to ensure all ordered services are initiated and completed timely, and that the provider is notified if a discipline’s initial assessment is missed, services are refused, or no longer needed.
- Upon completion of this module, assessing clinicians will be able to review and evaluate a plan of care to verify that diagnosis-specific emergency protocols, such as those for hypoglycemia and hyperglycemia in insulin-dependent diabetes, are correctly applied.
