Description
Objectives
- Identify cardiogenic and obstructive shock states and anticipate patient needs by preparing and supporting timely initiation of indicated medications and life-sustaining devices.
- Identify physiologic and procedure-related complications promptly, communicate findings using closed-loop communication, and escalate care immediately to ensure timely rescue and patient safety.
- Perform rapid assessment and implement evidence-based nursing interventions for the unstable patient requiring critical care medications to support hemodynamics, including safe preparation, administration, and titration within ordered parameters.
- Recognize early signs of sedation-related deterioration and initiate appropriate interventions, including airway management and escalation per protocol.
